ANNUAL REPORT TO PARLIAMENT
97253/51
43
In connexion with the preparation of the Annual Report for the year 1950-1, I should be grateful if you could let me know what entries, if any, need to be made in Appendix IIIA* (Approved Development Plans) in respect of the territories with which you deal, and also whether any explanatory footnotes about these are required, e.g. if the figures have recently been revised, or are about to be revised, or if the plans in question cover a period of less than the normal 10 years.
It would also be helpful if at the same time it could be indicated how the figures in question should be broken down for the purpose of compiling Appendix IIIB classifying the total expenditure on development plans under the heads of Communications, Economic, Social, Miscellaneous and Interest Changes, etc.
I regret having to trouble Geographical Departments for this information, some of which, I appreciate, may already be available in Economic General Department.
These two appendices to the report, however, attract a considerable amount of public attention and it is necessary to be sure that the information which we have has not been affected by recent developments of which the Department is not yet aware.
